Today is my mommy's birthday. Instead of going shopping for a birthday gift, I am stuck here on my couch still on bed rest. To top it off, there is a birds outside my kitchen window who have been flying into the window every 30 seconds for the past 6 hours. I am going crazy. I have tried everything....I have put something up in the window, I have sprayed the bird with water, I have yelled and hit the window, nothing works. The bird is hitting the window so hard that it sounds like the window is going to break. To top it off, its friend has joined him and they are both hitting the window. I wanna kill these birds.

I thought pregnancy was supposed to be a beautiful thing. My swollen feet hurt so bad, my ankles no longer exist. I now have cankles.

Bed Rest Again

On my sister's 25th birthday I was admitted into the hospital because I went into preterm labor. So happy birthday sister! She joked around about how special it would be to have Lily on her birthday. It would be specail, but still to early for Little Lily to come. The gave me shots in my arms, lots of pills to stop my contractions, IV's since I was dehydrated, and they kept me overnight to monitor the baby and I. I had never stayed overnight in the hospital before. The next day I was released home to go on strict bed rest. I can get up to use the bathroom, eat, or shower. Other than that I need to be laying down. It is so difficult to find things to do when you can't move around a lot. Thankfully we have had a ton of support from family and friends who have been helping us out.

The first week on bed rest the Mahoney's arranged to have friends of ours bring us meals so we wouldn't have to worry about it. I can't tell you how much help it was to not have to worry about what to make for dinner! The Mahoney's brought us a yummy pasta bake, the Vallejo's made us enchiladas and hung out for a bit, the Esquivel's made us a Mexican fiesta and we all hung out together playing with Josiah, Scott and Christy Barney made us dinner and went to Costco and Walmart to run errands for us. Janielle brought me by flowers, friends have called and stopped by to check on us. We are blessed to have such great friends.

Our family has been so hopeful and so supportive too. My mom and dad have made meals, done my laundry, cleaned my house, went grocery shopping for me, taking me to my doctors appointments. I really would be having a rough time without them. My sister in law Anna made us a few meals that were soooooo good, drove me to my doctors appointments, and put up woith my stupid questions...is this okay? Is that okay? She brought by the kiddos so I could see them. I have been missing their soccer games and I miss seeing the kids! It totally brightened my day. Brad's parents brought us over pizza and visited for a bit. My sister in law Jenn has been keeping me occupied with emails, cool websites to visit, and movies that she sent for me to watch. We are so lucky to have such a supportive family. Without them I would be really lost.

At 34 weeks we had another ultrasound to check on the size and the growth of the baby. At 34 weeks and 3 days Lily was measuring at 36 weeks 4 days, healthy heartbeat, head down, and healthy developing organs. She was also measuring at about 6lbs 14oz.....big girl already.

Yesterday was a rough day. I am now 36 weeks along. I had strong contractions all day long and they eventually hit 5 minutes apart so we went to the hospital. Contractions are supposed to dilate you, mine were not, but Braxton hicks aren't supposed to hurt the way they were hurting me. It turns out that my contractions were hurting for a reason. I have a Urinary Tract Infection so now I am on antibiotics for a week, along with pills to stop my contractions, and ambian to help me sleep. So I'm on bed rest another week. Try and make the best out of another week of bed rest and taking care of my little Lily in my tummy. Sigh.

The Little Things

I came home from work the other day to find that my husband bought me the most beautiful Orchids just because. I felt so loved and special because he thought of me. I am so lucky to be married to such a wonderful and caring man who adores me and will do anything to make me smile.

Happy Easter

Easter was a busy busy day for us. I started having Braxton hicks on Saturday and had them all day and all night. They continued all day on Easter. Brad volunteered at church to help direct the Easter traffic. We had a wonderful service at church and then went over to my mother and father in laws house for a pretty big lunch. I made mom's recipe of baked beans. Everyone really liked them. It was my first time making them so I 'm happy that they turned out. We had ham, potatoes, snacks....food galore. It was awesome. After lunch we went outside to watch the kids find their Easter eggs. They get so excited and so happy looking for their eggs. Its so wonderful being an Aunt and seeing the kids so happy. After lunch we went to my folks house for a big yummy turkey dinner, I love my mama's cookin. My mom and dad had our neighbors over and my friend Sam and her Mom over. Mom loves to have a full house when she cooks. The more the merrier. Mom and Dad bought Lily a few things for Easter, adorable little newborn outfits. Lily is spoiled rotten already. I was still having braxton hicks and my stomach was pretty sore so I was pretty exhausted. We went home and went straight to bed afterwards, sure enough I fall hard and fast asleep, but for only 20 minutes at a time....the contractions would wake me up and then I couldn't get back to sleep. Sigh.

It was such a wonderful day spending it with my family. I'm so blessed. Next year we'll be sharing Easter with our little Easter Lily :)

Children's Museum

Last week, I took the day off work to go to the children's museum with the kiddos and my sister in laws. It was so nice to take the day off work and hang out with just the girls. We really don't get a chance to ever hang together unless its the whole family, so it was so much fun to have it with just us. This museum was awesome. I'm not a kid and I even had fun there! Everything you could possibly image to play with was there. Grace, Ezra, and Audrey were running around playing and were all smiles. It was wonderful to see them so happy. I can't wait til Laney comes so we can take her there to play, she will absolutely love it!!!

32 week check up

At 32 weeks we had another check up with our doctor. This time at 32 weeks Lily was measuring at 35 weeks and ws approximently 6-7lbs. She's going to be a big girl. Here's a pic of me at 33 weeks along. As you can tell by my puffy face and droopy eyes, I haven't been getting much sleep at all so I feel awful. I have been sleeping on the couch cause its more comfortable to be propped up on the couch than it is to sleep in bed. I wish she'd get here already!

Mommy Car

We just purchased Brad's Daddy car about 2 months ago.....its my turn now to get my mommy car. My little VW was great to me. It never broke down, good on gas milage, small and conveinent......but since I'm having a little one a two door convertible wasn't going to cut it for me. When I was in Bellevue for my photoshop class I stopped by the Lexus dealership where we purchased Brad's car to see what they had just for fun. I had no idea what kind of car I wanted, but I did have a list of the must haves. Four doors, car seat straps in the back, automatic windows and doors, trunk big enough for a stoller, good on gas, and something that I'll look good in :) I immediately went towards the 2003 Infiniti G35. I wanted one of these cars years ago, but they were so expensive and I couldn't find one that I liked. The car had 109,000 on it, but it was in amazing condition. Someone took really good care of this car. After the test drive I feel in love with the car so Brad and I decided to buy it. We were going to sell my little VW, but its hard to sell a convertible in Washingotn State and my car was making really funny noises and we would have to put money into it to sell it. So we traded in! It was sad to see my little car go that I have had for almost 7 years, but it was time to move on.

My new mommy car is awesome, fully loaded. New tires, rims, gps navigation system, automatic doors and windows, leather seats, sunroof, perfect paint, big trunk, 2 car seat straps in the back, super clean, and really fast. I'm so happy to have a new car! Here she is.....isn't she pretty.

Photoshop

I recently traveled to Bellevue for a training for work to learn how to use photoshop in some of our publications that I design. It was a pretty fast paced class and it was super hard program to learn from scratch. I passed the class, hopefully I'll actually remember what the heck I learned.

I stayed in Bellevue for 2 nights at a super nice hotel called the Hotel Sierra. When my work booked the hotel, they mentioned to them that I was pregnant. When I arrived at the hotel I received a card from the manager of the hotel. They upgraded my room to the suite at the hotel to make my stay as comfortable for me as possible. The room was right next to an elevator, they put 6 extra pillows in my room, free dinner pass, a basket with chocolate in my room, bottles of water, and an extra large robe. It was so nice of the hotel to do all of those things for me and made my stay awesome!

30 weeks

My Sweet baby girl at 30 weeks. I think she has my nose :) We had the ultrasound to determine how big she was getting. At 30 weeks I was measuring at 32 weeks and Lily was about 4lbs. 2oz.

Maternity Shoot

At 29 weeks Brad and I went to Puyallup to have our maternity photos taken with a photographer that I have previously modeled for, the amazing Jackie Lund. It was so nice to see her again and visit but it definetly wasn't like the last time I saw her. I must admit, it was a lot harder to pose for pictures with a big ol belly.
