Maternity Shoot

At 29 weeks Brad and I went to Puyallup to have our maternity photos taken with a photographer that I have previously modeled for, the amazing Jackie Lund. It was so nice to see her again and visit but it definetly wasn't like the last time I saw her. I must admit, it was a lot harder to pose for pictures with a big ol belly. Here are a few of my favorite photos from the photoshoot :)

Baby Lily's Baby Shower

My mom was so excited to throw Baby Lily's baby shower and I was really excited to finally get some baby stuff so that I feel a little more prepared. Be careful what you wish for, Baby Lily was spoiled rotten! My mom even threw it at our house so that we could show everyone our home, the baby room, and the best part.....not have to bring the gifts home since we were already there. It was so nice to be able to go through all of the gifts after everyone left and be able to put them away in the baby room right away. My Prego Belly Cake! My mom came over and decorated, cleaned my house, and made a ton of food for our guests. It was so wonderful. A ton of my family, friends, family friends, coworkers blessed us so much with all of their wonderful gifts.

A lot of my friends who came to the shower were pregnant too....5 total! Here is a picture of Brandy and I belly to belly. She is due in August and she's having a boy. My mom and dad were so generous and gave Brad and I an amazing crib and changing table dresser, along with a ton of clothing, shoes, bibs, blankets, you name it my mom included it in the gift. My parents aren't excited at all to be grandparents.... ha ha ha.

My favorite gift was from my grandma snow white. She sent a sweater that she knit all the way from Newfoundland. She knit the exact same sweater for me when I was little except mine was red. It was so beautiful! My Aunt Nancy sent us the crib bedding all the way from New Jersey that I wanted for the nursery and the matching lamp! It is sooooo adorable and so soft. I can't wait to put it all together!

My sister sent baby's first piece of jewelry a cross necklace from Texas. It is so beautiful. My sister in law Anna handmade a blanket for the nursery that was adorable. It was her first attempt at making a blanket, she did such a wonderful job. My other sister in law Jenn gave my a pink blanket with Lily embroidered on it. All of the Tesch babies in the family have one, it was super special. My friends Mishal and Lexi recovered a glider chair for the nursery with this beautiful fabric and even made a pink pillow with the letter L on it. Its so nice and so pretty for the nursery! I have such talented friends!

Other gifts included clothing, diapers, bibs, blankets, shoes, a life vest for the boat during the summer time from our good friend Wil, diaper bags filled with baby goodies, gift cards, baby bath, a bouncer chair from my girlfriend Brandy, a 2010 Canada Team Olympic infant jacket from the year she'll be born from my friends Tara and Gen, a pregnancy massage and wax from my girlfriend Sam that I can't wait to use, toys, the matching hamper and mobile to the nursery set from my girlfriend Nicole, books, hats, and a jenny jumper chair! It was wonderful to see so much pink in our house and finally have some baby stuff to put away. I'm getting very excited for our baby girls arrival!

Babysitting the Twins

Our good friends Andy and Audra asked us to watch their tiny little twins Emaline and Elliott for the night and we were so delighted to help out. It was really the first time I've had a chance to care for a baby since I've been pregnant and the first time I have seen Brad with an infant for more than 10 minutes. I knew he was great with kids since he is such a wonderful father to Laney and such a great Uncle to Ezra, Grace, and Audrey. But I had no idea how much more I would fall in love with him watching him care for the twins. Right after Andy dropped of the twins, I had a massive craving for Cadbury Chocolate eggs, so Brad ran to the store to pick me up some goodies for the night. Right before he left he made sure I was okay with both of the babies. They were smiling and sitting on the floor as happy as can be so I said go right ahead, these two are just a piece of cake. Brad closed the door, the twins looked up at me at the same time and started crying. It was so funny. I bent down to pick one up and realized how hard it is to pick up not only one baby, but two while I'm pregnant. I was singing to make them stop crying and bouncing, but nothing worked. I finally figured out that they were hungry, but making bottles for two babies while holding both of them was pretty interesting. When Brad got home I was laying on the couch with a baby in each arm feeding both of them at the same time. He laughed and took one of them to help me out. It was really funny. Once they started to get sleepy Brad and I would bounce up and down the hallway trying to get them to go to sleep. He would talk to Elliott and Emaline and they just loved him. It was so wonderful and made me so happy. I can't wait to have our baby girl here and do that every night. It was so much fun.

30 week check up

Well at about 29 weeks I went to Dr. Sweeney to check to see how baby Lily was doing. I am feeling much better and getting bigger and bigger every day. I can't wear my wedding ring anymore since my fingers are swollen and I have to wear slippers since my feet are huge and I can barely bend over to put shoes on. When she measured me I was measuring at 31.5 weeks along so she scheduled me for another ultrasound to see exactly how big our little girl is. Sure enough, at 30 weeks she measured at about 32 weeks weighing 4lbs 2 oz, looking healthy, and stretching out in my stomach. Here's a picture of her beautiful face. I think she has my nose, but we'll just have to wait and see. I'll find out at my next doctors appointment if they will move my due date or what happens next. I am ready to hold our baby girl.....I'm really uncomfortable and ready to have her out :)

Olympia Baby Shower

I had a trip to Olympia booked for work, but since I had been so sick and on bed rest Brad and I thought it was a good idea to travel with someone and stay with family while I was there. Luckily my mother-in-law was delighted to go with me! We stayed with Brad's Aunt Kay and Uncle John's house. They were so wonderful to me. Their house was beautiful and they were so welcoming and kind to me. I truly felt like family. Brad's Aunts and Cousins planned a surprise shower for me in Olympia at a local pizza place. It was so much fun to visit with everyone and open all sorts of gifts for Baby Lily. She will definetly be well dressed. She got so many cute outfits. I may have to change her a few times a day to wear all of the outfits she got :) We also got a seahawks diaper bag that said Tiny Tesch on it that is sooooooo adorable, cute stuffed animals for the nursery, canvas kit to make artwork with the baby's hand and foot prints and sooo much more! The pizza was so yummy and they even got a huge chocolate cake. I love chocolate, but I don't think Baby Lily likes me to eat it. I had one piece of cake and moments later it came back up :( I've really only met the entire family at the reunions and our wedding so it was nice to sit and hang out with everyone. They are so much fun and so nice! I think I fit in pretty well :)

Cousin Russ

My cousin Russ came from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan for a visit. My mom and dad had no idea he was coming, but that day she was dropping off Super Bowl Nachos for Brad and I since we were watching the big game at home. They answered the door and they were so shocked that he was there. I just love the reaction on their face when they saw him! While Russ was here for a visit I had to work quite a bit since I had just taken a bunch of time off work being on bed rest after my surgery. So during the day he would relax, sleep in, and be on vacation. He said he had a really good time which made me really happy. It was nice to have him visit. We are pretty close cousins and it was nice that Brad got a chance to hang out with him and play basketball together. I love it when he can meet people in my family. We have such a big wonderful family that I talk about all the time so its nice to be able to have those people visit.

Making Room for Baby Lily

I am about 28 weeks now and we are trying to take the necessary steps to make room for Baby Lily in our lives. Our first step was to buy a family car. Brad's truck was starting to break down quite a bit and was becoming unreliable for work and unsafe. We both have to replace our vehicles since our cars are not baby friendly. Brad had a two door, two seater truck and I own a two door convertible. We were planning on purchasing my car first, but I am being really indecisive about what car I want to get. Brad had been watching a GMC online since Christmas time and it dropped $3000 in price. So we decided to go take a look at it. It was perfect for what we wanted in a family car, better on gas than his truck, lots of room to go camping, big trips to Costco......exactly what we were looking for. Brad and I like to play good guy bad guy when making big purchases. Brad is always the good guy who makes nice with the salesman and I'm the hard ass that won't give in unless we get a deal. We thought for sure we wouldn't get away with it on the purchase of this car, but sure enough we got it for $2000 less than what they were asking from the reduced price due to the economy and the fact that it was hard to sell a GMC vehicle at a Lexus dealership. Bad for them, but great for us. Brad was so happy to have a new car and I am so happy to have a safe car that we can take family trips in. Its really nice!

The next step was converting our spare bedroom into a nursery for Baby Lily. We had turned the spare room into our office. I spent hours cleaning out the room, organizing, and figuring out where all of our stuff was going to go. Comcast came and moved our computer to the den. I love it! Our den is an office/sitting area where people can sit and chat while I make dinner. I'm also going to use it as a play room for Lily and the kids. It will be nice to keep the toys out of the living room and have a good spot to store them all. Next step.....paint the walls, rip up the carpet, and install the wood flooring!

A Day at the Spa

As a treat to myself I went to the spa with my mom to get a much needed facial at the Majestic. Its one of things I like to do the most to make myself feel pretty and relax. My skin hasn't been the same since I got pregnant so it was really nice to have a lot of attention, massaging, and different products used on my face. She even did a skin treatment to my tummy for stretch marks. It felt really good to have someone rub my big ol tummy, very relaxing. After Mom and I had our facials we went and relaxed in a quiet room where we had snacks, drank tea, and lounged in our robes. It was so nice to spend time with my Mom. When we were done we went to pay and found out that our treatments were paid for by my friend Sam as a surprise! Sam had recently had surgery so my mom, dad and I took care of her after she got out of the hospital for a few days. It was such a nice surprise and so thoughtful. The facial was my Valentines day gift from Brad so I can get another one! I can't wait!

Happy Birthday Laney Bug

Brad went to Kansas for Laney's 6th Birthday. I wish I could have gone with him, but being so sick during the pregnancy and finances being tight prevented me from going this trip. She had three birthday parties. Her main birthday party was a pool party with a bunch of her friends, a family party at the Cafe, and a party at school with her class. Brad and I bought her a Build a bear that we dressed in Pjs and recorded a message that said Good Night Laney, I love you.... so she can hear her daddys voice whenever she wants. We also got her a book called All the Ways I love you. Its a recorable book so that her dad can read her the story. Pretty neat idea, especially since she's so far away.

Brad hasn't uploaded his pictures from her birthday party yet, but once he does I'll post them for you all to see :) She's growing up so fast and turning into such a big girl. I miss her so much.
