First Date as a Mommy

Last night we had my parents watch Lily for the first time so that we could go on a date. It was really hard to leave her. It took me about an hour to finally get out the door. As we were driving off I had a big sigh.....I was scared, happy, and excited all at the same time. We couldn't go too far since I wanted to be close just in case so we drove 2 minutes away to Flyers for dinner. I know I know.....not much of a date if its only 2 minutes away. We had a great dinner, great conversation, hand holding, the works.....Brad made me feel really special, one of the many reasons why I fell madly in love with him. After dinner we went back to my parents house to pick up Lily. My parents were smiling ear to ear and having so much fun. It made me feel good that we could leave her and she was going to be fine. I just needed to break the ice.

Doctors Visit

I loved dressing her up so that we could go to the doctors office. Everyone at the office wanted to see her and told me how cute our little girl is. We went to the doctors office to see if our little girl was gaining any weight. When she was born she weighed 7lb. 14oz. and the day after she weighed 6lbs. 13oz. After that she was having a hard time gaining weight. They were unsure if it was due to my milk production and difficulty with breast feeding or if there was something wrong with her. At this point the yucky black poop that babies have was no longer happening, her belly button already fell off.....by the way, both of those things happening were extremely gross. I swear being a mom has made me not care about gross things. I can't tell you how many times I have caught spit up in my hand to prevent it hitting my outfit :) Lily was starting to gain weight and that made the doctor happy, which made me extremely happy. I am really glad that we were starting to give her pumped breast milk in the bottle to help her tummy get full.

Lily's First Date

June 1st, 2010

Today my girlfriend Brandy brought over her little man Kaiden for a play date. Kaiden was born 3 days after Lily. It was crazy to see the differences in the two of them. Kaiden was born early so he was very tiny. Lily would make squeaking crying noises and he would grunt. Even if I was in another room I always knew which cry or noise was hers. Does that just happen to you when you become a mother? I have better hearing now, I wake up when she makes the littlest noises in the night, I survive on little sleep and wake up with a smile. Its crazy how something so little changed my life so much. It was really cute seeing them look at each other.

Night Time Feedings

I'm a night owl, I always have been. Lily is apparently a night owl too. She wants to play, read stories, talk, sing songs....my very own baby to have girls night with. She looks at me as if I'm the only one in the world. I still can't believe that we had her. She's perfect. I was just starting to get sleepy when Lily decided that she wanted to stay awake and talk. She makes the funniest and cutest noises ever. I am so exhausted, yet I can't stop smiling.

So we stayed up most of the night and Lily woke up at 6am. Right away I got peed on, spit up on my clothes and in my hair, gave her a bath, I took a shower, 3 outfits later and it was only 11am. We couldn't wait for daddy to come home and help.

Girls Night Gone Ga Ga

Now that the baby is here and we are starting to settle in I'm working on getting back to my routine. First on the list...GIRLS NIGHT. We get together at my house and watch So you think you can dance, glee, or whatever show we feel like watching. On this particular night it was Glee gone Ga Ga....a show dedicated to music by Lady Ga Ga. It was a great show, even better company. Gen and Lily have the same hair style!Lily has gone Ga Ga!!!!!!!!!!

One Year Anniversary

Well since wedding #2.

Happy anniversary to the love of my life. We even tried to eat the top of our wedding cake....it was awful. So horrible that we immediately had to spit it out. Its hard to believe that so much has happened in one year since our wedding that we shared with family and friends. Our real anniversary is September 18th, 2008. But I am a smart wife and I created 2 anniversaries. I went all day thinking Brad had forgot about wedding anniversary #2, but he didn't. In one year we have bought a house, Brad got a new job, lost his job due to the economy, we went on our honeymoon in Hawaii for our real one year anniversary, we found out we were pregnant, Brad got a new job, Brad broke his hand, I was put on bed rest, and now we have her......
