Big Girl Bed

My work graciously gave us the time in between Christmas and New Years off to spend with our families. It was a perfect time to transition Lily into a big girl bed. Our friends Bud and Nicole had a set of bunk beds that they wanted to get rid of, so we traded our full size bed for their twin bunk bed set. We needed a bed for both Laney and Lily, but we didn't have enough room to have two full size beds in one room. Absolutely free!!! They were painted neon pink and neon green, so I had brad paint them brown to match the girls room. I purchased the bedding online at Walmart for $29. The comforter and pillow sham is simple so I can add to it with pillows and room decor. I also loved the price. I needed to buy two sets and $100 a bed just wasn't going to work with our budget. I purchased hot pink sheets on clearance for $9 each. They are so soft and cozy. This is what the girls room looked like when we bought the house. Yuck!!!!This is what it looked like after we put down new flooring, painted, and decorated it as the sweetest little nursery. And now its Laney and Lily's bedroom and looks like this:
(I obviously need to take a photo and put the photo here)
Lily's first time napping in her big girl bed. That night she laid in bed, gave me a kiss goodnight, and rolled over and snuggled with her bunny. It was so easy! My big girl is growing up so fast. I couldn't help but snap a photo while she slept.
