Wow. Today you are 10. They said it would go by quickly. They were right. I am in awe of how you have grown up. My love for you grows stronger with each passing day. I am prouder than words can possibly express to call myself your step mom. You are amazing to me for so many reasons.
You are sweet.
You are always thinking about others and their feelings. I remember this past year when you tried to you convince us that we needed to rescue a dog from the pound. You gave us all of these horrible statistics about how many puppy's are being put to sleep and that we needed to adopt them immediately because you wanted to save them.
I love when you read to your brother and sisters on FaceTime. They listen to you and smile.
You are smart.
Bug. I am so proud of how smart you are. I love to listen to what you have learned at school or about what you are reading about. You teach me things. And help others see the world from a much needed perspective.
You ask the best questions.
My favorite questions were from when you were 5. What are clouds made of? Have you ever seen a porcupine? Do you like to tip toe? I would think about your questions all day and it made me smile.
You are so incredibly beautiful
Inside and out.
You make me a better person
Laney Bug....I can't begin to tell you how much you changed my world. How much I love being in your life and being your step mom. It is such an astonishing privilege to be a part of your life.
I didn't have the privilege of making her into the strong, smart young lady that she turned out to be today, but I hope that I can be. Annie and Brad did an amazing job of being parents to her and friends with each other. I am grateful to be included and to follow in the grace of watching her grow and seeing the path along the way with their daughter.
Happy Birthday Sweet girl. I love you all the way to everywhere and back.
