RIP Bambi

Our first night at our new home was wonderful. The next morning I woke up and walked around the house trying to find things in boxes, got ready for work, and I drove down our new street. I kept thinking, this street is so pretty. We are so lucky to live here. I even saw a baby deer eating grass on the side of the road. When my car came up to the deer it startled the poor thing and the deer ran into the street and was hit by a huge ford truck going about 50mph. The deer helicoptered over an oncoming car and then skid across the street in front of my car. I saw the horrific death of Bambi in slow motion. All i could do was cry, it was awful. As I drove to work hysterical, I called Brad so he could calm me down. He told me that it wasn't my fault that the deer ran off into oncoming traffic because deers are stupid and that's why they don't run for president. He always knows what to say to make me feel better. I just felt so bad that I scared him and then he died. Poor, Poor Bambi!

Moving Madness

Moving Sucks.......packing everything you own, trying to organize it, getting help to move, cleaning the apartment, cleaning the house, checking out of the apartment, painting. Its not easy, but we had a fun time. Thanks to everyone who helped out, we really needed your help quick and you all pulled through! Thank you all so much!

Happy Father's Day

Ever since we have been married, its hard to decide whose house we are going to for all of the holidays. Friday we spent the day with Brad's dad Barry. We got him a new hose for the yard that rolls up. He really needed a new one, so we knew just the thing that we wanted to get him. We had a yummy dinner and spent the night playing with the kids and hanging out with family. Saturday Brad and I spent the day with my dad. We bought tickets for my mom, dad, Brad, and I to go to the Mariners Game. It has been ages since my Dad went to a game and he loves to go. We had really great seats in section 117, great baseball food, a beautiful day, and a winning game! It was perfect.

Sunday Brad and I celebrated Brad being the wonderful father that he is. We went to church, went to home depot and picked out things that we wanted for our new house which was really fun, and spent the night relaxing in our apartment. I got him a Nike duffel bag for his trips to the gym and his basketball games and a new pair of Jordan's.....I know the way to his heart.....sports and food :) While I made dinner he talked to Laney for a little bit and they watched cartoons together. Our cartoon channel is in the same time zone so they can watch them together. Its so adorable.

Home Sweet Home

Brad and I finally got the call that we have been waiting 2 months for. We got the house! Brad and I had our hopes set high on a home out at West Beach that a family friend had privately for sale. The owner of the house was really great to work with. We had to jump through a ton of hoops to get through the home buying process....pay stubs, letters from our employers saying that our jobs were stable in this economy, credit report mistakes and fixes, bank statements, our family budget, home insurance quotes, home inspection appraisal........all while the wedding planning was going on! It was nuts. It all paid off in the end. We received a grant to purchase our very first home. Brad and I signed about 100 pages of documents.....signing our life away and making the biggest purchase both of us have ever made before. It was so amazing.

Luckily Brad's dad Barry works for the title company and helped us with all of the documents. We couldn't have done it without him! We are so excited! I can't wait to have a house warming party and invite everyone over to come and see our new home!

Congrats Grads!

Brad and I received a graduation invite to Geoffrey Wacker with a personal note inside about how happy he was to graduate high school and move to the next step of his life. Looking back I wish I would have written a note in mine too. It was really nice. Geoff's folks, Ginger and Marc are Brad's godparents. Brad and I went South on the island to a beach that I have never been to, it was so beautiful out there. We ate yummy food, talked with friends, spent time with family, picked flowers with Audrey, and the boys played basketball. Brad told me he had to show them all how it was done. He's so adorable. It turned out to be a wonderful day spent with amazing people. The following weekend Brad and I went to my girlfriend Robin's Grad party in Anacortes to celebrate her BA! She is going to make such a wonderful school teacher. She has worked so hard to get her BA and I am so proud of her. Here is a picture of Robin and I going out dancing in Oak Harbor. I just did a Rosie the Riviter photoshoot for the radio station and I didn't want to waste the fun hairstyle. We had so much fun that night. About a month after this picture was taken, I met Brad :)

Date Night

Brad and I bought tickets months ago to go and watch Dane Cook live in Seattle. We were really looking forward to watching his comedy act, but we were totally disappointed which was such a bummer. Traffic was nuts getting there so we were a little late. Our tickets were super pricey and our seats weren't as good as I hoped they would be, especially for what we paid for them. We were totally cramped in our seats and we couldn't move at all. On top of that, Dane Cook wasn't as funny as we hoped he would be. We both love watching his live specials on TV, but we were both disappointed with his performance. It was funny, but not the typical Dane Cook funny. Oh well. At least we got to dress up for something fun, spend some time together, and get out of town.

You Can Call Me Mary Poppins

Brad and I attend small group at the Mahonney's house weekly. After small group we always chat about this and that and have become very good friends with them. I offered my help cleaning and organizing since Audra was prego with twins! They finally took me up on their offer and I went to town on their spare room. Audra's sister was coming in town to help with the babies and since Audra was on bed rest she couldn't do much around the house and Andy was feeling overwhelmed.

Two hours later.....voila, clean and organized room with a bed for Audra's sister. It was so much fun to get everything together and while Andy was running around with his head cut off I was getting Audra anyhting that she needed and playing with Sam. He is so sweet and such a good boy. His smile is so adorable! Cleaning and organizing makes me feel calm. I was really glad I could help. They are such wonderful people.

Thanks Todd

Once again, Brad scored awesome seats in Section 142 from Todd, Laney's cousin, to the Mariners game. Todd called Brad the day of the game and asked us if we would like to go.......if coarse we did! Brad and I are both huge Mariners fans. So whenever we can go to a game its such a treat. We couldn't have asked for a nicer day, it was such a great surpriseThis is the second time Todd has given us tickets. Todd was the umpire for home plate so we had the best seats to watch him in action. Every now and then he'd give Brad a gesture to say hi which made Brad smile. Here is a picture of Brad holding Todd in the palm of his hand :)Todd could get us 4 tickets so we took Brian and Jenn with us to the game. I think Brian is stuffing his face with BBQ Pork sandwich in this picture. I ate a ton of garlic fries and smelt so bad for days, but it was totally worth it....there is nothing like baseball food. Right before I took this picture Brad said......don't touch my squishy.

Gift Opening

The day after the wedding Brad and I met friends and family for a yummy breakfast and then we all went to my folks house for the gift opening. I couldn't believe all of the generous gifts that we received from our friends and family. It was so nice to visit with family that I haven't seen in years and it couldn't have been a more perfect day. The weather was so pretty. Everyone was still pretty tired from the night of fun at the wedding. My hair was still curly from the wedding, I couldn't even put a brush through it since it had soooo much hairspray. I wore my shirt that I had made that said true north on the front and angel wings with my last name Tesch written on the back, just like brad's tattoo. I really like that shirt :) Everyone snacked on lunch that my mom made while Brad and I opened up the many many gifts that we received. It would take forever to list them all, but I'll list what I can :) My Grandma Snow White's gift was probably my favorite. She hand crocheted a table cloth for our home. I felt really special to get one since I was the only grandkid that she had ever made one for. When I was in Saskatoon visiting for my cousin Mitchy's wedding she was actually working on it then.....little did I know that at that point Brad had bought my ring and my grandma knew so she started to make me one. Its so special. My Aunt Audrey hand made a beautiful wedding quilt....yes I cried. It was so pretty. I gave my Cousin Russ a kiss to pass to my Aunt Audrey when he got home. We received a ton of gift cards from Bed, Bath, and Beyond....which I love, Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Macy's and people contributed to our honeymoon registry which allowed us to pay for our airline tickets in full for our honeymoon to Hawaii! We received beautiful artwork, kitchen items, a very creative date night basket with blankets...popcorn...mike n ikes, honeymoon basket with his and her towels....magazine for our flight to Hawaii.....games to play on our honeymoon, a tent so that we can go camping, and so much more. My mother in law bought a beautiful Another one of our really neat gifts was from my coworker Diane, she bought Brad and I a really nice grill. Brad is really excited about it.....I am too.....now he can cook me dinner :) Brad and I are so grateful for the wonderful friends and family. I'm hoping to send out thank you cards soon with a wedding photo. I haven't gotten them yet, but I will very soon :)

The Night of the Wedding

After the reception Brad and I drove off in Grandma and Grandpa's cadillac with a cute sign that said, "Just Hitched." It was nice to have a minute alone with Brad and talk about how wonderful the night went. We drove to our Honeymoon Suite at the Skagit Hotel. It was amazing. The room was cozy and so relaxing. We had a fireplace in our room, it was very romantic. My only wish is that we could have stayed longer. The only thing we forgot to do before we left is take the latches off of the 30 buttons downt he bottom of my wedding dress, it was really funny because Brad has such big fingers. Eventutally it worked and then.......
