No More Cankles!

I have feet again! I missed you feet! To celebrate the wonderful occasion I got a pedicure.Lily was excited too....can't you tell :) Ha Ha Ha. This swaddle blanket was really nice, we got it as a gift from Brad's cousin. A note to you Mommy's out there, don't put it in the dryer without connecting the Velcro together, it will ruin all of the other clothes. Also these blankets are great for newborns, but not so great for when they get a little bigger so we only used it for a short amount of time.

Different Cries

Being a mother is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. Lily cries and and I have no idea what she wants. I can't tell her cries apart. I want to make her feel better but I don't know whats wrong with her. I've fed her, changed her, burped her, tried to sing to her, put her down, everything......nothing works. Its so frustrating when I have no idea how to make her stop crying. Brad came home today to both Lily and I crying. He told me to go take a shower and calm down. He told me that me being upset was making th ebaby upset. Happy mommy=Happy baby. I took a shower, relaxed for a bit and sure enough I came out to my wonderful husband andvery calm baby girl. He is the best. He made my day. I must admit, she is pretty cute when she cries. Don't let my smile fool you, I was crying inside.

Beauty Sleep

She is so peaceful when she sleeps.....take my advice, when the baby sleeps, you sleep. If you don't you'll be exhausted. What I have been doing is catching up on cleaning house, laundry, making lunches and dinner. Although I have a clean house, I look haggard with bags under my eyes. Mama needs beauty sleep too.

Have I mentioned how much fun it is to dress up a little girl? I have so much pink and I love it. I dress her up, put headbands and bows on her. She is so pretty, she is like a little doll.

A Full Night of Sleep

Finally a full night of sleep last night. I think I figured it out. Since I am not producing evough milk, Lily isn't full at night so she wakes up and wants to eat. So what Brad and I started to do is use the pumped milk and give her a bottle before bed. Sure enough, it worked and I slept just like Lily did......a baby.....and it was amazing.

I grew up hearing my grandma snow white sing this song. She would sing it at parties, after dinner, or whenever there was a crowd. I loved hearing her sing this song. Now I sing it to my little girl and it makes her fall asleep.

3am

I have been up all night. Lily must be going through a growth spurt because she nursed from 3am to 6am. It hurts so bad, but she won't stop. Now that she's asleep, I'm wide awake and cleaning the house. When she cries she sounds like a little dog squeak toy. She sounds so funny. We have been hanging out in the living room since daddy has to work tomorrow. I have all of the lights off and we are watching late night infomercials which I secretly love, especially the cleaning ones. Guilty pleasure.

Well I survived week one. Look how cute my little bunny rabbit is. I'm so in love.

5 Days

My baby is already 5 days old. I can't believe I'm not pregnant anymore. It seemed like I was pregnant forever because of bed rest, but now that she's here its so surreal. Today is the first day that I have attempted to get dressed, put makeup on, and do my hair. I've been so exhausted that I have just been a mess the past couple of days. So today is my first day back to the old me.....I'm still retaining a ton of water. I thought the water retention was supposed to go away when you have the baby? I was wrong again. I love the way he looks at her, the way she looks at him. Maybe she looks at him and thinks, hey I remember your voice......and I look like you :)These jammies are my favorite. She is so tiny, but in these particular jammies they fit perfectly and they looked so cute on her. By the way, the pillow is made by boppy....without it I would have gone crazy, she would nap on it, I could sit her on it when I took a shower, it was pretty much a lifesaver when she was born. The neat thing about it is that she can use it as a pillow when she is a toddler.

Happy Birthday Poppy

Lily's first trip out of the house was to visit my dad for his birthday! I was a little nervous taking her out of the house but it was so nice to relax at my mom and dad's house while they just took over as grandparents. Seeing my parents face was so amazing. They are so happy to see Lily. Its a very cool thing to see your parents as grandparents. They are different, but the same if that makes sense? My little bunny rabbit is so adorable. This outfit is a newborn outfit, but she is so skinny that she is swimming in this outfit. I am so exhausted, but cuddling with her is the only way I can get to sleep now. My dad's first birthday as a Poppy! I'm so glad that we gave him the gift of Lily for his birthday.
