On the morning of October 17, I started having contractions 3 minutes apart. Exactly 37 weeks and I was starting to go into labor, just like I was with Lily. Brad works during the night so we decided that it was best that Lily and I stay at my parents house until the baby was born just in case I went into labor in the middle of the night and needed help. I was only off of bed rest and my medications that stop my contractions one day before I started going into labor. I'm totally grateful now that I was on bed rest to let our sweet baby Jax grow a little longer. My mother in law came over to pick up Lily so that my mom could drive me to the hospital. When we arrived they checked me and determined that I was far enough to admit me, but they wanted me to do some walking to move things along quicker. My mom and I walked all over Anacortes for 2 hours while Brad slept in the waiting room of the hospital since he just got of working all night long. We even walked to the donut house and splurged on some yummy doughnuts. When we got back to the hospital I had progressed so it was time to admit me. I was so relieved. Finally I'll get to meet my sweet baby boy. I was still having very strong contractions that hurt so they decided to give me the wonderful epidural. 
As soon as I got my epidural it slowed down my contractions and I stopped progressing. They checked me at around 9pm that night and I was still at 4cm, 90% effaced. They determined that they would check me again at 2am and we would see what happened from there. At 2am the nurse checked me and I could read it allover her face.....still nothing. So they decided to do a test to see if my water broke yet and if that was the cause to my labor not moving along. The test came back positive that my water had broken. No fluid came out? Are these doctors crazy? I would totally know if my water broke. The nurse in labor and delivery thought that maybe my water hadn't fully broken, the bag was just torn. So they slowly put me on pitocin to move along my labor raising the pitocin slowly every hour. I was exhausted from having contractions every 3 minutes, my stomach was sore, I was hungry, and I was really tired. I slept for about an hour when I felt this giant kick and my water broke. the babies head was blocking the exit and my water wouldn't fully break until he moved. Absolutely crazy! After my water broke things moved really quickly. I went back to sleep for about a half hour and I woke up feeling this insane pressure and needing to push. It was 7:55am the next day and the doctor was on her way to check me. I was scared that if I sneezed the baby would have come out. So I asked the nurse to check me now. I was fully dilated and fully effaced! Wooo hoooo! So everyone started to set things up, my mom woke brad up from his very comfortable sleep....he was passed out on a bed half his size with his head hanging off of one end and his legs hanging off the other end. The nurse got Brad coffee and told him that it was time to have a baby. The doctor walked in and I was so relieved. Can I push now? I really need to push! 15 minutes later they placed a beautiful 8 pound 5 ounce baby boy on my chest. I was flooded with so much emotion. Happy tears and smiles as I introduced myself to my son. I'm your mommy. I'm so glad you're here. I love you so much. He looked up at me and stopped crying. 
We just stared at one another until they took him over to the table to check him out. Over at the table he held on to Brad's finger the whole time. 
Brad was so funny telling him to be tough and not cry....he was only a few minutes old. He doesn't need to be tough yet honey. I love that man so much.
