Promotion

I just spent the past hour in my Bosses office discussing my new job for the Samish Tribe. I had a list of things that I thought I should do in my new position. My boss was impressed by my prep work.....I knew being OCD would come in handy one day.

My new job title will be Tribal Media Relations.......ohhhhhhhhhhh. I like it :) I will still write grants and take care of the Transporation Planning for the Tribe, but that planning is pretty minimal right now so I have a lot of free time. So I'll be one job 20 hours a week and 20 hours on the other job.

Now comes the good part.... because I have been here a total of 6 years now and I deserve this promotion I also get a bump up in pay. My boss has to negotiate this amount with human resources and the Tribal Council, but I should see this dollar amount in the next two weeks. When I receive the amount my pay will also be retroactive to today so it will be a nice addition to my paycheck. The really awesome thing is that I will go up to the next pay scale, which is awesome. So my raise will not be less than a $3.00 an hour raise and I'll be on salary. It could go even higher than that, but I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch. Not only will I receive a raise, but I also got a sweet big desk upstairs with a view.

It's just exciting..... my life will change dramaticially with this pay increase. I will get my debt paid off quicker, I will be able to do fun things and afford them. Since my car will be paid off in one more payment (yesssssssss), I will finally own something. Depending on this raise, Brad and I might be able to afford a house payment later down the road. Paying rent is such a waste. These are all things in the future, but you know me.....I like to plan everything and have some sort of a direction to go to. My direction right now....pay off debt and I am definetly on the right track now :)

I am really excited. This is a great birthday present from my work :)
