Brad and I just got back from our very first vacation together to Cannon Beach, Oregon. It was so nice to get away with Brad especially since we've been engaged for a week or so now and I feel like there is so much to do.
We drove down with Mom and Dad Tesch.....yep Mom and Dad....so exciting :) We camped there and shared our big tent with my soon to be sister-in-law Jenn and soon to be brother-in-law. You'd think sharing a tent would be hard, but the tent was so big that sharing a tent was awesome and saved us both money :)
Mom and Dad Tesch stayed at a house nearby with a bunch of family friends. My soon to be brother and sister in law Mark and Anna, stayed at a house with their kids (my new nieces and nephews) a mile or so away right next to the famous Haystack Rock with Anna's parents. The houses were both very cute and beachy. I loved spending time over at the houses eating dinners, sitting around the fire, talking with friends and family, playing games.....we had a great time. Brad and I did great when we played the board game compatibility. We were in first place for a while, but we ended up in third place. Not to bad for a newly engaged couple. We relaxed in the beach. I listened to music and read my huge wedding planner book, we even started to make the big guest list for the wedding, not an easy task. Brad went boogie boarding and even tried to surf. He was pretty tired by the end of the day.

A few weeks ago I called the famous Haystack Bread Bakery to order Brad's Birthday cake. He looked so happy when we all started to sing happy birthday and when I came around the corner with the cake. I love that smile. The cake was soooooo good. It was white chiffon cake with raspberry filling and white butter cream frosting with a hint of almond and orange flavoring with Happy Birthday Mister Tesch written on it. It was perfect and so yummy.
My favorite thing about Cannon Beach was getting up early in the morning and looking for Sand dollars and seashells for Laney....my new.....daughter. Wow.....I have not only said yes to marry the love of my life, but now I have an entirely new family. They are so wonderful to me and make me feel so welcome and happy to become Mrs. Tesch. I haven't met Laney yet, but she called a few days ago and mentioned that she would like to meet me. It makes me so happy. I never imagined that I would fall in love with a such a wonderful man who has a little princess. I can't wait to meet her.
Our last night in Cannon Beach was spent at Marc and Anna's place with her folks, who are so much fun to be around. The boys played outside while the girls painted nails and did bjore strips.....we even talked the guys into doing it. Shhhhhhh.
On our car ride home we stopped at the Nike factory. Brad + Nike Factory= Bad Idea. We spent way too much money, but oh well. When we got home, Brad showered and went straight over to Grandpa George's house to stay the night. Grandpa George wasn't feeling very well and needed to go to the hospital the next day to have exploritory surgery to see what was wrong. Its so hard to stay at home by myself now without Brad, so I decided to stay over at my folks house. Brad makes me feel safe and when he's not there I don't want to be either. So now I'm trying to get back into our normal routine now. Laundry, cleaning, working.......I wish we were still in Cannon Beach.
