The past 5 years have been the happiest of my life. I can't imagine what my life would have been like if I hadn't met you. You have forever changed my world. You have blessed me with true love and have been the man you have promised me that you would be. Our marriage has been challenging over the past 5 years and God has definitely thrown some obstacles our way. But through it all, you have always managed to sweep me off my feet, be a strong supporting husband, and have always made me smile.
When you asked me to marry you....I couldn't believe that you picked me. That you wanted to marry me! I was thrilled to become your wife, your best friend, and a step mommy. I never imagined we would be where we are today. When I met Laney, I fell deeply in love with you watching you be a father to her. She is exactly like you. Watching you two together brings true joy to me. I am so happy to be her step mom and give her a piece of my heart.
I didn't think that our love could get stronger and I had no idea how different milestones in our life would change how I feel about you, but they did. When we found out I was pregnant, you were giddy and that made me so excited. I was so scared about having a baby, but you reassured me that everything would be okay and you would be by my side through it all. I remember looking into your eyes as I was delivering Lily. You told me how proud you were of me and that you thought I was a great step mom to Laney and I would be a great mommy to Lily. I remembered feeling like you had given me super powers. You believed in me....and that meant everything to me. After I had Lily, I was tired and felt as if I knew nothing about being a mom. You told me to take a nap and relax to clear my head so that I could realize exactly what I was saying about his wife. You always know the right thing to say. Always know how to make me feel better and know that everything is going to be just fine as long as we do it together.
I thought for sure I knew what I would feel like when Jaxon was born since I had experienced it before....I was completely wrong. You never cease to amaze me. You looked at me to tell me how beautiful I was even though you were tired for working a night shift. You remembered to take care of me first and made me feel like I could do anything. When you held him for the first time, you looked at me and smiled and thanked me for giving you a son. I can't describe how it changed my world when you said that. I didn't know I could love you any more than I already did......but I do.
Brad....you are so unbelievably smart. You are the first one I want to talk to about anything....or ask stupid questions to. I know you'll laugh at me, but you'll always find an answer for me or help me understand. You are such a leader. I admire that about you. You keep our family grounded and remind me of our faith in God and our faith in each other. So here we are 5 years later with another baby on the way and I still continue to fall more and love with you on a daily basis.
I have learned many things about you over the past 5 years.....
- You like to be the little spoon when we sleep
- I can clean while you watch sports, but when we are watching a show I have to sit still
- I can always make you smile by getting you a root beer float
- You remember everything, its great because I am pretty forgetful.
- You are very stubborn.....and so am I, so if we disagree about something it takes forever for someone to give in.
- You and I are on the same page when it comes to parenting....which is extremely important.
- I promise to love you unconditionally.
- I promise to be the wife I promised that I would be.
- I promise to be the parents that gross our kids out
- I promise to be a super wife and mom and do it all to show you how much I love you and the kids.
- I promise to be better at making dinner every night...I have been sucking at that lately.
- I promise to make the Tesch name proud :)
